How might I feel?
Everyone is different. You might feel completely fine, or you might notice cramps, tiredness, a headache, sore breasts, bloating or changes in your mood. You might even feel different from one period to the next.
There is no rule that says you have to stop being active during your period. Gentle movement can help some people feel better. But you never have to push through if you feel unwell.
Try this: Ask yourself, “How does my body feel today?” If you feel okay, you can play. If you need a break, lighter activity or rest, that is okay too.
Do I need to change my training because of my cycle?
You do not need a special training plan just because you have periods. What matters most is getting to know how your own body feels, because everyone is different.
When should I tell someone?
Tell a trusted adult if pain is strong, you feel faint or very unwell, or symptoms regularly stop you taking part in school, sport or everyday activities.
