Do I need a sports bra?

If your breasts have started developing, supportive clothing such as a sports bra or sports top can make running, jumping and changing direction feel more comfortable.

What should a good fit feel like?

The underband should feel firm but not painfully tight. Straps should stay in place without digging in. The cups or fabric should contain the breast tissue without gaping or squeezing.

Sizes and styles vary between brands, so the label matters less than how the bra actually fits and feels.

What if I feel embarrassed?

It is common to feel more self-conscious as your body changes. Breasts develop at different ages and speeds. You have a right to privacy, and nobody should tease you or make unkind comments about your body.

If you want help with fit: Ask a parent or carer, or use a reputable fitting service.
